A Pretty Nude Lipstick

Hi!

Just want to share my love for all nude lipsticks in this entry.

I did not buy this lipstick. It was given to me by my gf, who said it did not suit her skintone... I think this is a Japanese brand? Called Coffret D'or Or Kose? I am really not sure... I think it retails for $30+ at the department stores.

The color of this lipstick is BE176.

I have been using this for the past couple of weeks, and I like its creamy formula. The color is also very nice and well, natural on me. I like how I can just slap it on my lips without it drying my lips, and gives some subtle shimmer too.

Sidenote: Day 3 of me using the Estee Lauder foundation. Love love love!!

Has anyone tried this brand of cosmetics?? I am sure it is very well known in Asia....just that I am a doo-doo and haven't ventured out much into Japanese brands.

LOTD & Prada!

Hi hi...

Just a little FYI, the following LOTD pics were taken after the end of a long long day in the hot sun, walking about, eating non stop, attended a wedding etc, and coming back home.

So pardon me, if my face seems rather oily or worn out.

I really like this eye shadow combination, which I have raved about before, and which I totally copied from pixiwoo's tutorial "defined bronzed eye" - I think this is one of my fave tutorial of all time.

Face: RMK Base, Dior Extreme Fit, La Mer Powder, Studio Sculpt Concealer

Cheeks: Personal Style, and Dollymix

Lips: (which is completely worn off by now, since I didn't bother to touch up) -- YSL RV No7 Lingerie Pink, and MAC My Favourite Pink Dazzleglass Creme

Lashes: Ardell lashes, and also I cut up a piece of Shu Uemura's Smokey Layers, and pasted each half at the outer corner for extra kick. YSL Faux Cils in Violet on the lower lashes.

Liner: Stila Smudgepot in Brown, MAC Orpheus to line waterline

Eyeshadows: MAC Patina, Smut, Vanilla

Brows: MAC Dirty Blonde, Mink Brow Set

Check out the extra definition and color at the outer corner, due to the added lashes.

And the star of this post, I bought a Prada purse today. I saw this series of bags at the DFS store this week, and have been lemming it since... and when I was at ION today, and I just tried my luck, to check if the purse is still available in store, cos apparently it is not a new collection, and is very limited edition. So.. I was very excited to get my hands on the very last piece. Woot!

Since I don't really use a wallet (I just stash all my cash and cards into a purse with no separate slots, and sometimes my phone fit into that purse too).. this type of purse is really what I need... well, I don't NEED it.. but I am a sucker/ have a fetish for all things with cute skull motifs.. and yea, so that kind of justifies this little impulsive purchase.

Yup, I kind of collect all these skull type purses...the last one I bought is a Fendi printed bag...and the skull print is so cute, and not very 'obvious', if you know what I mean?

And a little side note, while I was at ION, I skipped over to Sephora to see the Urban Decay stuff, and guess what, I bumped into Kas while I was swatching the eyeshadows!! LOL. So funny.. so we raved a little about the eyeshadows.. and she explained to me in person all the girly math about the cost and quantity you are paying for etc.. and then we had to quickly take off, because she had to join her parents, and I had to re-join my friend who was at the LV store.

Look of the Day - Coral Lips

Hi Hi!

I was putting on my usual neutral eye look this morning, and I decided to give my YSL RV a rest and try some bolder colors on my lips. So I went for an orangy coral. I am using MAC's Ravishing (Cremesheen, LE). And I am kind of surprised that I got quite a few compliments at work. Haha.

So that's why I am sharing these pictures.

On my face: Clinique Superfit, MAC MSF, MAC Studio Sculpt concealer, Conjure Up -- which I applied a little too liberally.

Eyes: All that Glitters, Style Snob, and Vanilla, Eyeliner Loreal Superliner Carbon Black

Lips: Ravishing Lipstick

Next, a cheesy posey picture. The lip color is actually more coral, orangy than the pictures show.

On another note, a huge package just arrived at my house. Going to rip that open, and go gaga, and maybe I would share them in the next entry. Nice rainy day to chill at home, no?

LOTN: Clubbing Nights

Was out in the wee hours of the morning the past 3 days - the first night I didn't take any LOTN pictures, but there were some from Sat and Sun.

2 totally different looks:

1. The Red Lips combo.

2. The Smokey Nude Lips combo, with wavy hair!

Black Long Sleeve lace detail tee from Zara.

Reason why I looked so shocked in the next pic is cos some girl came crashing into my arm which was holding the camera. :p

And on Sunday: Smokey Eyes (NARS Lola Lola, Mekong, Lips - MAC Creme Cup Lipstick)

The hair loosen up throughout the night, becoming nice and wavy. Note that I used zero styling products except for a heat shield - lurve the natural shine and gloss - and that the curls/ waves lasted the whole time.

Side note: How does one order a 'Screaming Orgasm' cocktail from the bartender without looking stupid? I just muttered Screaming under my breath and hope he knows what I ordered. Why can't a drink/ cocktail have a normal respectable name without all these silly sexual references and innuendos?

Look of the Night with Red Lips

Hi everyone!!

This is a follow up to my red lips experiment, which I got a few days ago, click here to check it out.

So I was going out with the sister tonight, I left my house almost 1am, which is kind of lame. Anyway, I took these pictures after I got home, which is around 4am, because I left the house in a hurry - so no time to snap pictures.

On my face: Maybelline Angel Fit Pore Zero Primer, Clinique Superfit foundation, MAC Studio Sculpt concealer, MAC MSF natural to set, and MUFE HD powder after everything.

Cheeks: MAC sculpt and shape powder (accentuate/sculpt), Azalea blush

Eyes:(all MAC) Bare Canvas Paint, Vanilla and Dazzlelights e/s, and Patina on the crease. Loreal Superliner for a little winged effect.

Lashes: Shu Uemura Black V, and YSL Faux Cils mascara on the lower lashes.

Lips: MAC Russian Red lipstick

I had a few drinks, and I realised the lipstick didn't stain the glasses, and stayed quite well throughout the whole night. I didn't touch up the lipstick at all the whole time and before taking these pictures. So.. thumbs up for the staying power. I thought that red lips are very high maintainence, but this is turning out quite easy.

And needless to say, we want the lips to be the focus of the whole look, not just the MU, but also the outfit, so I kept everything else plain, and neutral, even my clothes.

Ignore my zitty face!! But you see only the 'inside' of the mouth is starting to show some signs of wearing off, which isn't too bad.

Shall post a quick entry next, which will be a product rave.

Look of the Day: Wearable Black Gloss feat. MAC Black Ware

Hi!

The title speaks for itself. This is my attempt to pull off a black gloss. If you have seen the swatch from my haul post, you remember that the color actually isn't that scary black.

Ignore my eye makeup in the following pictures. I blotched my eye makeup big time today, cleaning it and applying over, everything was a mess for some reason. In the end, I forgot what I had on.

Note: Feline eye kohl is seriously BLACK and pigmented. Amazing creamy texture, and I suggest using a angled liner brush to even out the line, blend, etc etc for a neater line, or to smuge it out.

On my cheeks: I am wearing Solar Riche bronzer, and Style Demon.

Lips: Black Ware all over, and I dabbed some My Favourite Pink dazzlecreme in the middle of the lips.

But the BF did notice the black lips, the first thing he said was 'your lips so dark today?' LOL~

Nails - OPI Mod About You

See? Black lipgloss can be wearable, right? Imagine pulling it out in the ladies room and touching up, all the stares you attract! Hahahah.

LOTN: "Sophia wears Style Snob"

On my lids: MAC Style Snob (which is like Satin Taupe) and on the crease, NARS 'Sophia' eyeshadow, which reminds me of a matte version of MAC's woodwinked eyeshadow.

Liners: MAC black russian liner, set with MAC Black Tied eyeshadow.

Lips: Nice Mixed Up lipglass (from colorcraft collection)

Cheeks: NARS Laguna and NARS Sin

Lashes: Falsies and YSL Faux Cils Mascara

*Brilliant. Stray hair right in the middle of my face*

How to go from Blah to Glam (Detailed Tutorial & Tips)

Hi everyone!!!

Just want to share some tips and tricks on 'transforming' your face. This will be a kind of tutorial, with step by step pictures of what I did, and also what you can do to make your makeup last the night, especially for dinners/ clubbing, etc. You want to look glam, but not overly done, cos at the end of the night, when the lights go on, and you go home... you don't want to look all wilted and washed off... Ok. So let's start.

Step ONE: This is the blah face. FOUNDATION - I used a tiny amt of primer. Then I mixed my MAC studio sculpt and MUFE HD foundation. I used my fingers to apply my foundation. At this stage, you DON'T set your foundation yet. Because you are going to prime other areas of your face with other cream products. Layering your makeup is the key to making them last the whole night/ day. And the logic is cream on cream. You don't want to put cream over powder cos that's just gonna mess up. Ok... so now we have a clean canvas, as shown below.

STEP TWO: FIll in your brows. Apply eyeshadow base. Depending on whatever color you like, or use UDPP, paintpots etc etc at this stage. Here I used my Shu Uemura brown cream eyeshadow only on the lids. I also used a cream color stick (MAC Pink Vivid) for my cheeks. So you don't need to touch up your cheeks throughout the night. One of my pet peeves is to see girls at clubs, huddling in the ladies the whole time, powdering and caking their faces. GOSH. The only thing you need to touch up is your lip products, OK? So... here we have.

STEP THREE: Eyeshadows. Since I am going for a smokey look, I am not going to do the inner corner and outer corner light/ dark pattern. I will just pack the dark color all across the lid. I am using the FREE $75 eyeshadow in Glided Black. (Quick review - it is super creamy and pigmented, with some fallout. LOVES)

Do not worry about blending at this point yet.

If there is fall out, you can clean it up later.

STEP FOUR: BLENDING eyeshadows. I used a darker brown, in this case MAC Cocomotion pigment to blend out the black. You can use any other mid tone color to blend. This is what you should get. Then add the highlight colors, in this case I used Vanilla e/s and a bit of White Frost e/s just under the brows.

BLENDING is very important to achieving very polished and glam eye makeup. Makes it look like you spent lotsa time doing your makeup or, as though you used lotsa colors.. but it's really simple!! Also makes your eyes look bigger!! At this point, I also line/ fill in my lips with Illlamasqua nude pencil in Hex.

STEP FIVE: LINE your eyes. And MASCARA or FALSE LASHES. Here I am using the 'double' lash (remember, from the Starry Starry Night entry). I didn't line my lower waterline because I find that it makes my eyes look smaller. I also dabbed a little Solar White e/s in the inner corners. This is optional. Also coat your lower lahes with lots of mascara.

We are almost ready.... BUT I HAVEN'T set the foundation. So that's next. I am using the MUFE Matte Loose Powder since the foundation is already quite a thick coverage. The powder immediately mattifies the whole face, but making it look flat.

I lost count of which step already.

Next, CONTOUR and CHEEKS. I applied NARS Laguna Bronzer with a dupe MAC134 (from Coastal Scents) around the temple and jawline and then intensify the cheekbone area using MAC168 to apply. This is followed by NARS Sin and then highlight with MAC Pink Porcelain, also using the MAC168 brush. Because I used the cream base, this means my cheek colors will be very lasting and the color will stay true for a long time.

On the lips, I topped off the lip pencil with MAC Ever So Rich Creme sheen glass. Pop this in your purse to touch up.

For extra smooth loooking skin, I also lightly dust MUFE HD foundation. This is totally optional.

For the rest of the day/ night, you just need Facial Blotters to keep your face fresh.

Voila at the transformation!! Haha. I am being very self-entertaining now, obviously.

Hi! So glad this is not a work day... and I woke up super early this morning, cos I think I seriously need to get this done. Packing and sorting out the prizes for my recent little contest. I have been meaning to look for SOMETHING to put inside the "signature look" prize winners -- but if you follow me on twitter -- you will know what happened. I am still turning my messy room upside down trying to look for 'em. Oh well. I don't want to wait any longer, and I dug around for other stuff which I think and hope the winners will like.

Shall make this a little surprise... but here are the packages, all bubble wrapped. And I am off to the post office now!!

UPDATE: All sent! (Except for one.. To Jolene because silly hotmail javascript error thingy and I can't access the mailing add but as soon as it's fixed, your package is on its way!) And Diana's package is not pictured here.. cos at THAT time the pic was taken, I had not sealed the thingy.. Don't ask me why, I am blur like that. :o

On another note, I think I am going through a non-makeup phase now. In terms of colors on my face. Or maybe I am getting lazy. I don't know. I just do my foundation (cos we can't have dotty and uneven skin tone), and do my cheeks (LAGUNA!! And Mounia or Sin!!!) , and I am done! No brows, no eyeshadows, no eyeliner. Seriously. I think maybe this makes me look younger? I was asked during lunch yesterday at Mad Jack, if I am getting student discount from the cashier. Haha. Seriously. This is not the first time it happens. So my conclusion is no makeup= young girl! LOL. Not that I am youth obsessed, mind you, but I kind of take pride in being young at heart.... hahaha. That just gives you more street cred when you need to scold and lecture teenagers on a daily basis.

So.. this is my lazy no make up look.

p/s: Oh and I watched Coco before Chanel yesterday. Go watch it. Tres Bien!
