Would I step out of the house looking like this? Of course not.  Frankly, this is not a look for me.  But I had fun trying to pile on the colors (or the lack there of, in this case) in this look.

I am trying (very loosely) to recreate the modern gothic look which pixiwoo did to promote/ raise awareness of the Sophie Lancaster foundation.

Products used:

Face: Christian Dior Radiant Base, MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation (NC15), Set with Maybelline Loose Powder in Porcelain (for added paleness)

Cheeks: NARS Laguna and NARS Orgasm

I left my brows bare for this look.

Eyes: MAC Vanilla e/s, MAC Black Tied e/s (which I applied over Stila Gold Noir smudgepot used as a base here).  Liners: MAC Black Russian

Lashes: Red Cherry #218, and Shu Uemura Cobweb, and also YSL Faux Cils

Lips: I used Studio Sculpt concealer to erase the lips, and then applied MAC Underaged lipglass.

When everything is done, I dusted MUFE HD powder all over my face for a flawless finish.  You can't see the effect of this product unless you take pictures and all that.

Faux Leather jacket from Bershka. I was sweating buckets when taking these pictures.  Not cool at all, especially for a goth look.

On hindsight, I think this looks more like a super black smokey eye, than the goth look.  Oh well.  I hope I didn't cause any offense to anybody out there.

Just want to show off my new inuovi eyeshadow which I just got in Rose Gold. It is a really nice red coppery colour.  I decided to be a little more fancy with my eye makeup today (ie using 2 or more colors instead of my usual 1 color fits all EOTD).  And I can't say enough about the 'creamy' texture of the product.  You need only a little product for maximum impact. 

Another little side note:  I have not been using my usual TFSI or Paintpots etc as a base for my eyeshadows. Sometimes I find that they make my eyeshadows look a little too 'thick'.  They also change the 'texture' or finish of my eyeshadows.  So I have been using MAC Vanilla eyeshadow as a 'base' before I apply other eye colors.

What I used here:

Eyes: (Base - MAC Vanilla eyeshadow), (Highlight: Inuovi Platinum e/s),  (Inner corners: MAC Ricepaper & Solarwhite e/s), (Outer corners/crease: Inuovi Rose Gold eyeshadow  -- I blended this color quite a bit so it looks more subtle for my early morning workday but you can pack on the color for a dramatic night look) 

Liner: Stila's Gold Noir Smudge Pot on upper lid, and MAC Powersurge eye pencil.

No mascara etc.

Cheeks: NARS Laguna to contour, and NARS Mounia (cos it soooooo matches the Rose Gold eyeshadow)

Lips: YSL RV Nude Beige, and MAC Underaged lipgloss.

Everyone must try out the Inuovi Metallogy eyeshadows, and you know I am not saying that for the heck of it.  :)

I went to do my 2nd store visit for the Mystery Shopper Program on Saturday (I got an extended deadline as I received my package late) and this time, I went to Vivocity.  Again, I knew what I wanted, and I was just deciding between the colors to get.  I am a sucker for all of inuovi's Metallogy Eyeshadows all the colors are super pretty, and the color payoff is really impressive.

I got Rose Gold which is a reddish coppery color, I had wanted to get one of the brown/ gold shades, but then I have a million of those colors, and I thought Rose Gold would be something unique in my stash.

And this is a very badly taken close up picture of my eye.  I used the Rose Gold very close to my lashline, and Platinum as a highlight color.  I think I also used MAC All That Glitters e/s on the crease area.  I used Stila Smudge Pot in Gold Noir (yes, that's the actual product name, I previously called it 24kt or something).  And did you notice something???  I used MASCARA!!

I have not used mascara on my own bare lashes in ages.  I didn't curl my lashes here.  I was having some kick with my Givenchy Mascara this morning, and I just coated my very tiny lashes with copious amounts of the mascara, and for good measure I finished off with YSL Faux Cils Mascara.  This is the end (clumpy) result.

On the cheeks, I used a blusher (no name) from one of my Shu Uemura's palette, and Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick.

I will do in depth reviews/ LOTDS featuring these eyeshadows in due course.  I am really liking them.  And I also want to review the Stila Black Noir Smudge Pot, because that is also another fave item of mine the last few days.

My gf and I were at the Stila and byTerry counters at Tangs yesterday, and she was doing some research for tinted moisturisers, and I of course, got distracted swatching the products.  So I ended up with getting a new Stila smudge pot in this Limited Edition colour, it is basically a black cream liner with gold flecks inside. The gold flecks are very shiny, but they don't look OTT, if that is possible.  It retails for S$33 each.  I like Stila smudge pots, they are creamy and the color is very intense, I have one in Brown, and that is one of my very fave brown liners to use. So, I know I can't go wrong with this black one embellished with gold flecks.  Not sure if it is really gold though. LOL.  And did I mention it is Limited Edition??  Grab it!!

Well, you can't see the glitter/ gold bits in the pictures, but trust me, they are there!  Haha.  Loves!  I think I can just use this liner and glam my eyes when I don't want too much going on.

And on a side note, I am sooooo totally investing in byTerry products... maybe that should be my new year resolution!  Stop buying random endless beauty products and just get the really fine quality ones.  For example, I am totally lemming their skin enhancers, liquid blush, and matte loose powder.  They will cost something like $400+ cos the skin enhancer is $167.  Boo.

And on a totally contradictory note to what I have just mentioned, my youngest sister (17 years old) just left for her Paris/ London (she is also going to Cambridge and Goldsmiths College for her artistic insipiration mission) trip, and she brought along my long long list of Superdrugs haul list - she said she doesn't need to buy any makeup since we are totally going to share and rave about them.  Haha.

I went to inuovi at Far East plaza after my brows session. I was going to carry out the Mystery Shopper Program and I bought one eyeshadow with the product voucher.  I knew that I wanted to get the Metallogy(?) eyeshadows, and I swatched all the neutral shades like crazy in the store.

Like Di mentioned, at the time I was there (almost 5pm) there was only one BA in the store.  Although she was busy with doing the brows of another customer in the store, she was rather attentive to my requests, and I asked her questions anyway as she was doing the brows (which I supposed must annoy the other customer).  The store was bright and clean, but the blasting crass music from the nearby shop or stall thing was quite irritating...and I noticed that there was a group of 3 girls who seem interested in  the eyeshadows but because the BA was busy with the brow girl and also getting my stuff, she couldnt attend to them and they left shortly. Out of curiosity, I asked her "wah you are the only one here", and she told me the other girl went for her dinner break.  So I guess it isn't anyone's fault, we all need to eat, right?

Well, I hope to hit the Vivo outlet sometime this weekend, and then send in my replies on Monday.  I think I might want to get another Metallogy eyeshadow, cos I am really really impressed  by the texture and pigmentation.

Here is what I got today which is Platinum -- a white eyeshadow with the metallic sheen, which is a color I can use all over my lids.  The shimmer is not chunky and well, I just really love how 'creamy' it feels and also how when I blend out the color, it gives a pretty sheen.  I also like the sleeker packaging of this range of eyeshadows.  When you open the product, you can use the inside of the cover as a mirror because it is so silvery reflective.

I tried the blush creme thingy at the store and found that while the texture is nice (much like a stain and not sticky) the color doesn't seem long lasting, and easily smeared off when I rubbed it.

So today my friend drove in to Johor Bahru (in Malaysia, just across the waters from Singapore), and the main reason for me to tag along is to enjoy some cheap eats, and also stock up on my contact lenses (I get to save more than S$100 on my supplies).  We started out early morning to avoid the traffic congestions, and it felt like a little adventure, cos I haven't been to Malaysia in about 2 years.

I only changed enough money to pay for my lenses, and didn't expect to do any major damage while shopping, so I thought my 'pocket money' would be sufficient.  When we went to 'Jusco' and I saw a MAC store there, I knew I had to go in and check out the stuff.  Of course, I compared the price, and found that the eyeshadows are S$3 or $4 cheaper compared to SG prices (RM$58 each, and S$1=RM$2.43, so you do the Math).  I just got ONE eyeshadow, thinking that I may not have seen it in Singapore before (but I later saw it at our local MAC counter at Sephora haha).  I was surprised that they packed the eyeshadow in a very cute holiday bag.  And I also grabbed some flyers and postcards at the till before leaving.

The eyeshadow which I got is Mineralised (Lustre).  Although it is rather glittery, it is also pigmented, reminding me of Tempting e/s but a more grey toned brown.

And the next item I saw at Watsons and I got to grab a few of them.  I first learn that it is available while reading debx (I think so?)'s post on getting Airy Fairy lipstick by Rimmel.  I am keeping one for myself, and perhaps sell one, and save one for my upcoming giveaway.  It costs RM$9.90, which is less than S$5!

**Update: My bad, the lipsticks are RM$19.90 each -- which still works out to maybe S$8....SO, this is what I call drugstore prices!  For those who didn't know the hype about this lipstick, it was apparently highly recommended to lollipop26 by her viewers, and she got it, and she lurved it, saying it is a very good nude color which is not too pale.  So I checked out our Rimmel counters but have never seen Airy Fairy :)on the shelves.

At first glance, it reminded me of MAC Viva Glam VI, or NYX Thalia, but on the lips, it is slightly pink.  Nude Pink?  I thought the color would be paler, before I actually see this product for myself.  The texture is rather smooth, and there is a scent to the lipstick.  In the pictures below, take note that the actual color is more 'natural'.  I took both pictures without flash, as you can see, in both whitish and orangey lighting to show how different it looks on the lips.

Yup, those are the only makeup I bought, I think.  Hahaha.  I also got some toiletries, such as the Netrogena deep cleasning facial thingy which is half the prices we have here (compare RM$12.50 to S$11.50).

And finally, my little LOTD and outfit 'report'.  LOTD is a very simple one eyeshadow look (no surprises there) using inuovi's Techno eyeshadow (love love this!!).  I blended out the edges with MAC Dazzlelights e/s, and lined my eyes with Loreal superliner. On my cheeks, I used inuovi's blushers--- I mixed 2 colors together--a orangey and a pinky blusher.  Lips (YSL RV No1).

Just want to thank everyone who left me all the positive words in my previous entry.  My little baby darling is still hanging in there, and I am staying home most of the afternoons and evenings and nights with her.  Thankfully work is winding down, and I can be home in the early afternoon. to spend as much time as possible with her.

I know I have mentioned I will not be posting as much but I thought it is a good idea to review these items, as there is a promotion going on, as you prolly have read in icyabstract and adorebeauty's entries, and I think everbluec also did a little haul entry of her i nuovi blushers.

I have been using my i nuovi products quite a few times, and I must say they are really good quality.  I shall review the 2 products which I have been using in the past 2 weeks, and share my thoughts on them.

Firstly, the blusher in PINK.  This is a pink color blusher, with no shimmer.  I like this color because it gives my skin a rosy glow.  And because the color is so finely milled, it makes for easy blending.  Just to show you the color and how my brush picks up the color.

And here is how it looks like on my cheeks.  Please disregard my dazed expressions, messy hair, the zit treatment patches and the fact that I didn't do a full face makeup for this entry.  I just want to show you the colors when I am wearing them.

You see the color is pretty pigmented, and it adds a very rosy tinge to my face.  I like how you can build up the color, without having to worry that you look like a clown.

Not too sure about the other colors, but I am impressed with this product, and I would definitely check out the color range when I go to the counters.

Next, we have the eyeshadow.  I have the color in Dynamite.  This is a metallic brown shade, with rather chunky glitter bits which might put people off.  However, I think this is a great color and texture to own if you want to do a dramatic neutral (I know it sounds very confusing and contradictory) eye makeup. I like neutrals/ browns which are darker in shade, and Dynamite provides this effect. It reminds me of MAC cocomotion pigment without the glitter.

Here is how the product looks like in the pan and and the brush picks up the product.

Looks like pressed pigment, and you can see the 'chunky' bits.

You might expect a little fallout with such texture, but if you use a primer or paintpot/cream base, that's easily taken care of.

Above pic is the color blended all over my lids with a fluffy brush, and I also applied some in the lower lids for definition.

Pic with flash, so you can see both the cheek and eyeshadow colors.

The eyeshadow doesn't crease nor fade after a day of wear, though some of the glitter chunks disappeared.

Final verdict:

'Pink' blusher:  4 out of 5 stars

'Dynamite' eyeshadow: 3.5 out of 5 stars, or 4 stars if you take into account the name

This is quite irrelevant, but I am such a sucker for product names (besides packaging), and 'Dynamite' just calls out to me.   :)

So I made my way to vivo city today, and checked out the 3 new collections (no, make that 4 collections, because the Zoom Fast Black Lash is out too) that are released today.  These need no introduction, as I have been going on about them for some time.  They are namely the Style Black, Dsquared, and Dazzlecreme collections.  Is it crazy that MAC pull out 3 collections EACH TIME??  NUTS!!  But good in a way, cos then I just chooose the ONE item I really want from each collection.

This is my haul.  A little something from each collection.

From Style Black: I got Black Ware(S$35), which is a Creamy true black.  * That's all I got from Style Black.  The rest don't quite appeal to me, the eyeshadows are soooo glittery, and the other lipsticks are either too dramatic or too blah.  I thought Black Ware is rather naturally 'dramatic'  Hahaahahaha.  You will see my lips when I swatch it later.

From Dazzle Creme, I got 2 items and they are My Favourite Pink (S$36 each), which is a blue tone pink with silver shimmer, and Amorous, which is a deep red with gold shimmer. Really nice festive color.  And MOST pigmented among all.

From Dsquared, I got Feline eye kohl (S$28) -- I have heard so much about this, I had to get it.   And also the Sculpt & Shape duo (S$39)  in Accentuate/Sculpt, which is Pale blushed beige / Soft Taupe Brown.   I already have the powder from a previous collection, but it broke, and the other day I dropped it again, and this time there is no salvaging it, cos the powder just splattered everywhere on the floor.

Here is Black Ware on my lips -- it isn't that freaky black on the lips, you can definitely make it work anytime.  And I hate the brush applicator, it is so hard, it feels like you are using a toothpick to apply the gloss.  Even though it is supposed to be a BRUSH.  The same for  my Dazzlecreme and Dazzleglass.  Blending is impossible, and I end up using my fingers to spread the gloss evenly.

And the next one is My Favourite Pink.  Such a pretty color!!!  I think I can rock this over St Germaine, or my other pinky or nude lipsticks.

And the last one is Amorous.  It looks a lot more wearable on the lips (read: not so pigmented and dark as it looks in the tube).  Love love this!  Makes me feel glam for some reason.  And a very unique color.

And just to show you what is left of my old Sculpt & Shape duo:  Empty MESSY tin, and I am gonna clean it out, and together with some empty eyeshadows etc I think I am due for another B2M.

Yup, that's all.  Anyone else doing MAC hauling from these collections??

And here is my little rendition.  I know this is not for everyday, obviously, but could be cool for clubbing or halloween.  I am not into cosplay and all that goth/Lolita references, but anyway... this has been fun to do and I hope you have fun reading/ looking too, and even try it out for yourselves!

I will show you some pictures of the end results, and process and explanation of what I did.

And my youngest sis helped to 'photoshop' the following pictures for dramatic effect. Click here to check out her artwork.

And some pictures of what I did in the process.

I used MAC Mylar e/s, White Frost e/s all over the lids.  Then MAC Carbon e/s and Beauty Marked e/s.  I only used these black and white colors to blend. 

I also used Carbon e/s to fill in my brows.  And I used MAC's Smolder eye kohl pencil to really rim my eyes.

Clean up any fallout and mess after this part.  I also put on my lashes - Shu Uemura's Smokey Layers.  And I used Maybelline's Lash Stiletto for lower lashes.

I also used Silky Girl Silver liner pencil to highlight just under my brows and on the inner corners.

On the rest of my face, if you noticed, I look much paler/ fairer almost alabaster skin tone.  I used Studio Sculpt Foundation, set with MSF natural and powder Maybelline's Translucent Looser powder over -- I got mine in the shade Porcelain which is way too pale but is completely appropriate with this all black look.  On the cheeks, I contoured using MAC Omega e/s and then use MAC Pink Swoon blusher.

Now for the fun part, the BLACK LIPS.  Of course, I don't have any black lip products.  I used MAC Carbon eyeshadow.  Then I added clear gloss (MAC Clear Lipglass) over.  I also 'erased' my lips with concealer.

If you think getting fallout from eyeshadows on your face is bad, try getting fallout from black eyeshadows inside your mouth.  That's priceless.  LOL.

Black rosette hairclips from HM.   I also colored my hair jet black a couple of days back... so that adds to the BLACK theme for this look.  On my nails, OPI for Sephora Dark Room.
