April turned out to be another haul-filled month.

Liberty of London, Brushes, Lipsticks, OCC, Urban Decay, the crazy private MAC sale, the Aprils Fools Quest MUA, NARS, you name it!

Very action packed.  I am afraid I haven't been using that much makeup on a daily basis, other than my foundation routine, and the rotation of cheek colors.  In the past couple of weeks, I made a conscious effort to wear lipsticks, so that I can actually use them up!   I have so much brand new MU I haven't got to using yet.  Gosh.

But despite that, I put together a variety of items which stood out to me, some are old, some are new.  I didn't put in any nail polish, because I think you know which are my faves... JADE IS THE NEW BLACK.  I keep going back to this color every other time I change colors. Suzy Says Feng Shui might be the next Jade is the New Black.  However, I realise with blue nail colors, they give you smurf fingers when you remove them.  That's such a shame.

Let's look at the items in detail:

1. Louise Young Large Foundation brush. I think it makes the application and finish of my liquid foundation looks smoother.  I usually dab it into my foundation (after I poured it out on my hand) and stippled it all over my face.  Then I just blend blend blend, and this brush feels so good on your skin, you just want to keep 'massaging' your face with this brush!

2. MAC 109 brush. I use this brush with Shell Pearl powder, for more pigmentation, and as well as the Cheeky Bronze, for contouring and blush too.  I haven't use it in a long time as I was busy with my MAC168 type of angled blush brush or the MAC116.

3. MAC 225 brush. I think this is being DC, but you can still find it at Sephora MAC, or the Robinson MAC... I am not sure.  It retails for S$72 (more expensive than the other two bigger brushes!).  Pricey, but totally worth it. You can even use it to highlight your face, as I have seen Tanya (pixi2woo) does in her videos.  But I mainly use it to apply base color all over my eyelids, like MAC Brule or Vanilla.

4. Chanel Rouge Coco Lipsticks, in Madamoiselle (No5).  This is a wearable color, and the color which Vanessa Paradis is wearing in the ad campaign.  I think this is a classic color will suit most skin types.  Definitely something I can use to brighten up my face when I am not wearing too much makeup.  And this lipstick doesn't dry out my lips after wearing it for a few hours.  I notice some MAC lipsticks can be drying on your lips.

5 & 6.  Maquillage Lipsticks, in PK715 and RS518.  Two lipsticks, that feel really good on my lips.  The PK715 gives a pretty sheen, not much color.  I guess why it is so expensive (at $49 each) is that you really feel the quality when you slap it on.  I was fortunate to be sent these for review purposes, and I am really enjoying them. I always have either one in my bag for when I want to put on lipcolor in the day. The packaging is also very sleek.

7. MAC Blackline pencil.  What can I say?? I am a sucker for all shades and finishes of black liners.  I find this so versatile, you can use it on the outer corners to add depth to a neutral eye, line your under eyelids, and set with eyeshadows, etc etc.   I like the subtle gold glitters, and it reminds me of a pencil form of Stila's Gold Noir smudgepot, except the glitter bits are finer in the pencil.

8.MAC Shell Pearl beauty powder from the Give me Liberty of London collection. This is pigmented enough for me to wear on its own, as a blush, or for me to add a glow over darker and matte blush (like Dirty Plum, or Devil blushes).  I think it is almost like Benefit Sugarbomb on my cheeks. And needless to say, the packaging is super cute.

9. MAC Cheeky Bronze msf. I must say that of the numerous products which were hauled at the MAC private sale, I have only started using Cheeky Bronze msf.  This is actually quite pigmented and dark on my skin.  I don't use it for contour, as it is rather shimmery, but it is good to pop on my cheeks for a 'sunkissed' color.  I usually blend it out with a kabuki brush, to avoid looking orangey--just in case.

Lastly, a couple of non-makeup items.

10. L'Occitane Honey Lemon spray. I got to thank Kas for getting me hooked on this.  It is a fresh honey lemon scent, with glitter bits in the product.  It is not going to make you look crazy disco ball, lest you are worried about that.  It also doesn't fall all over my clothes.  As a precaution, I usually spray it liberally all over my body before I put on my clothes.  Because it is a eau de toilette, and I do want a heavy scent for daily wear at work, I use this as a BASE for my actual perfume later.  Sometimes I rub on LUSH Snow Fairy solid perfum (courtesy of Sara!), or one of my other perfumes.

11. MUJI Cotton Pads.  Peel-able.  Check out the mis-spelling on the package!  LOL.  Actually I didn't know it is peel-able (I think you get about 3 or 4 layers per pad), until I was looking at it one day, and saw the layers from the side... and I was like OH.. OK.... by then I was midway throught the packet.  What a waste!  I think this is super great for removing nail polish.  I use the other one, the 'organic raw' looking one for removing makeup.

And that's all, I shall end with a couple of swatch pictures.  Didn't expect this to be so pic and text heavy!  I guess it is kind of therapeutic to just ramble about MU for now... right in the midst of exam season, and all that jazz.  There has been a slight (but sudden) increase in the number of readers (482 and counting) here lately, and I am so happy!
