I got my first Tom Ford lipstick, and it was something that was at the back of my mind the whole time while I was in the US. The rather hefty price tag [USD45] and mixed reviews prevented me from making any impulsive hauling, but on the very last day, I popped into Saks and made my purchase [and then I ended up making another purchase which will be featured in a later entry]. I figured, it was kind of now or never, and since I was there in person to swatch all the colors, that is probably the best time to buy it.
The texture of these lipsticks are buttery smooth, sort of like the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks which I love. There is a slight vanillary scent to the lipstick. Also do note the actual color looks a tad pinker in real life than these pictures show.
I had actually wanted to get Pink Dusk at Neiman Marcus [but they only take Amex payment, and I didn't want to use my remaining USD, so I went to Saks -- but Pink Dusk was OOS, so that's how I chose Blush Nude instead]. Seriously, if there is some GWP deal going on, I might cave and get a coral or red one. All the colors are cream finish, and super intense.
And the sound of the 'click' as you cap the lipstick is really luxe, superficial as it sounds.
It looks pinker, not so conceal-ish looking.
I will do an LOTD with this lipstick, so you get an idea of the actual color.
It is a nude color that is not too pale on me [Vanilla Suede would be the color to go for if you are a nude nude nude lipstick fan],
and it is safe enough to match most looks I wear all the time.
