Paris, April 9 2012 - Christian Dior announces today the nomination of Raf Simons as Artistic Director of women’s Haute Couture, Ready-to-Wear and Accessory collections. It is with tremendous excitement that the House of Dior is welcoming Raf Simons, one of today‘sgreatest talents.

Monsieur Dior’s first collection radically changed the codes of elegance all over the world. The first Christian Dior Haute Couture collection created by Raf Simons will be presented in Paris in July 2012.

DIOR MAKE-UP DESIGNER LAB

Designed to reveal the latest trends, the Dior Make-Up Designer Lab features talented young make-up artists experienced in backstage creation and sought after by big international glossy magazines. Drawing rich inspiration from the world of Dior, together they boldly reveal the Dior make-up of tomorrow. New textures, revealing trends, revolutionary application methods and products inspired by the most expert professional techniques, the Dior Make-Up Designer Lab will be the first to reveal the new trends and invent the beauty of the future.  Violette and Yadim are the first talented young Make-Up Artists to join this prestigiousand ambitious lab.

Yadim, an International Make-Up Artist based in the United States, travels the world on prestigious photo shoots and major artistic collaborations. This San Diego native started his career working alongside Pat McGrath. Recognised in the business as being exceptionally gifted, in 2010 he caused a sensation by creating the cover make-up for the October issueof Dazed & Confused. Vogue France, Vogue China, Vogue Japan, Vmagazine and W are some of the prestigious magazines that he regularly works with. Dior International Make-Up Designer, Yadim, now brings his talent to the DIOR MAKE-UP DESIGNER LAB.

Violette is a young Parisian Make-Up Artist who has risen to remarkable heights in the past few years. She grew up immersed in the magic of photo shoots. Initiated through the images of the greatest photographers – Paolo Roversi, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Peter Lindbergh – she studied fashion design and learned graphic arts and painting. An eclectic talent with her own unique vision, she started out in New York but has since returned to France, where her impressive feeling for colours and textures has hit home. She works with Vogue US, Vogue France, Vanity Fair Italy, Elle France and Elle Italy. Today she is in demand with the stars, from Sophie Marceau to Demi Moore and Eva Mendes.As Dior Make-Up Designer, Violette has now joined the DIOR MAKE-UP DESIGNER LAB.
