Trend Alert - Green Nails safe for work?

By retail_therapy · April 14, 2009 · 3 Comments · 124 Views

So, green nails.  Yay or nay?  I applied MAC's Peppermint Patti yesterday, and I wore it to work... it is actually a very pleasant shade of green which makes me feel happy whenever I looked at my hands today.  (Ok that came out sounding very narsissictic -- but you know what I mean.)

And green nails are the IT color to wear now, isn't it? Check out the Chanel Fall Ready to Wear 09/10 collection:

And I was thinking just now, hey, with the appropriate hand accessories this can work, and look very dignified for work indeed.  I work in a relatively conservative environment (well.... teaching, if you are wondering) and I think I can pull this off.  I kept my make up very neutral... barely any colours at all.

So, here we have:

Nail Lacquer - MAC Peppermint Patti

Silver Ring - Tiffany & Co. 1837 Collection * I bought this ring 6 years back with my first pay check.

Watch - No brand, it costs me SG$25, which is about US$12-15?

Apologies for the grainy pictures - I was playing with the high ISO setting to avoid using flash so I can capture the 'real' lighting.

As far as green nails go, I prefer Peppermint Patti to the OPI Garguantan Green Grape which is kind of too lime-green.  I am still waiting for the arrival (it's taking FOREVER) for my ebay china glaze haul which includes For Audrey... and also maybe my folks might come home this weekend from London with the Barry M 304 nail-paint which supposedly looks exactly the same as Peppermint Patti.

And while we are on the subject of Tiffany.... Green... etc.... I am kind of lemming this:

What do you think? Of course, the gold and diamonds one would be totally out of my budget range... but the silver oversized one with the long chain is more my cup of tea.
