About Me

My name is Sophia, and I am in my early 30s. I am from Singapore and I am the sole writer of this blog.

About this Blog

I started this blog in 2006, I like to use a wide range of brands though I seem to have a growing preference for higher-end brands in recent years. I also like to share interesting things I have come across about makeup and beauty.

Currently The Makeup Blogette receives 39,000 unique views monthly or 2,238,932 views and counting.

My Makeup Style

I like classic looks (neutral tones on eyes, anything goes for lips & cheeks), though occasionally I try out dramatic/ statement looks.  I believe that a flawless base is the key to achieving great makeup looks.  I also believe that if you don't have great skin to start with, fake it with a good foundation routine, and even greater skincare.  I am currently loving Clarins & Lancome skincare products, and Vichy NormaDerm for tackling with breakouts.

What Cameras do I use?

Most of the pictures you see in post 2010 entries are taken with my Canon G-11.  Previously I was using Canon Ixus 80.  I do post some pictures which are taken with my iphone4 which I will state in that particular entry.  I have stopped watermarking my pictures as of 2011, because I think watermarks are ugly in general, and does not prevent people from stealing my pictures if they wish to.  I just take it as a compliment that my pictures are even worth stealing in the first place. I might look into getting a Canon EOS next year, not just for blogging purposes, but I also like photography in general.

My Favourite Makeup Brand(s)

It is hard to name just one, but I like NARS, Chanel, Illamasqua and the ocasional Guerlain, Dior & Urban Decay item.  I own quite a stash of MAC items, but recently I have stopped catching up with their collections, and I much prefer to splurge on a few really outstanding items.

Where to find me

Twitter (link button above!)  Email (stated above!)  Instagram (makeup_blogette)

I have no official Facebook fan page, and currently have no intention to start one at all.  The Makeup Blogette remains my personal hobby and property, so as such, I don't believe in having a Facebook fanpage for it.

Final Disclaimer

I bought/ paid for all of the products mentioned in this blog. I am not affliated to any company. If certain products are sent to me for review purposes, I will say so and express my honest opinions about them. In any case, I will only review and showcase the products which I have personally tried and tested, and enjoy using. I do not get paid to review anything.

No ads, no paid links etc please.  I am in charge of all content and pictures here.

I am not a makeup artist, nor do I have any professional training in makeup.

    Back & Updates

    Hi hi!!

It feels like forever, because ever since I got back a few days ago, I haven't been able to get into the blogging swing of things.  I have lots of new products to share prior to my China trip, and lots more post trip!  I didn't buy any makeup besides those at duty free, so there won't be a specific haul entry... I have lots of NARS updates, as you all know, with the opening of Tangs, every makeup lover is abuzz with all the new brands coming, new counters, just NEW everything is exciting.  I can't wait to share with you my meeting with Mr Francois NARS, I have several giveaways lined up, I have fashion accessories to showcase, and I also have several looks up my sleeves to showcase!  Meanwhile I also have lots of nail polish to play with!  I will also be covering the upcoming Metro Ladies Night sale event

Gosh... and work is still on going, so I really have to juggle my time, and hope to share as much as I can, before I fly off for another week in mid December.

I think I have covered most of the holiday collections, there are still specific products which I will be featuring, of course... so do stay tuned for that!

Just want to get warm up with my last entry about my trip.. well, more like a pictorial update.  I really enjoy Beijing, it is really quite a cosmo city so firmly steeped in history and culture, and I like the mix of the modern and the old.  Chengdu by contrast is quieter, less bustling, but just as culturally rich.

Here, I took a pic of this man, so hippy chic.
We were at the Summer Palace, looking at the sunset, and listening to stories of the Empress Cixi, and I was distracted by him.
What a cool attitude he exudes!

    Some seriously perfect cloisonne art.

Silk stitch painting, that looks beautiful on BOTH sides.

    Opera performance in Chengdu.

    Sight-seeing.

At the Great Wall.  Note, I didn't say I climb.  Hur hur.

The Er Mei Mountain, well, this I can say I climbed! And froze, and panted, and really worked!

    Out and about at night!

    Snacks for everyone!

    City vibe in Chengdu

    Food!

Hope to post lots of entries this weekend.... happy friday!

I cant wait to catch up with my friends too!

    Thanks for reading!

Checking in from Beijing [Plus a tiny Duty Free haul]

    Hallo!

It's my third, or fourth? day in Beijing, and I realise just how much I miss walking about in the cold weather.  To a tropical city girl like me, being able to experience the autumn/ winter months overseas is really something refreshing.  There was a little snowstorm the first day we came, but other than that, the skies are clear, and the air is crisp.  It is also quite special to be in the city at the same time as their first major political meeting in 10 years, lots of traffic, lots of security, and just this air of anticipation all around.

Went to a few places which I could strike off my bucket list.  It is truly awesome to be standing at the very locations where history is made of.  You can feel the solemn atmosphere, despite the throngs of (mainly domestic) tourists teeming the places like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and so on.  I can't wait to visit the Great Wall in a couple of days.

Of course, let's rewind back to Singapore, it was a late night flight, and shopping had to be done.  And shopping I did.  I am going on another trip in December, so I think I was quite modest.

    1. Lady Gaga Fame in 50ml (they didn't have the 30ml available at DFS...and on hind sight, I think this might have been cheaper during the brief Sephora sale, I can't remember the exact prices).

    2. Chanel No5 EDT 50ml (slightly over $100) I swear, it's the Brad Pitt ad that totally sucked me into buying this heady scent.

    3. Chanel Perfection Lumiere ($66 I think)  It took me so long to get it, right?  I know!  But yea, finally.

I also spotted the Guerlain holiday 2012 collection out, and prior to my trip to DFS, I had a couple of items which I wanted to get very badly, but after seeing the collection in person, I changed my mind.  Besides I have my money set on purchasing the NARS holiday releases come 15 Nov!

This is my first meal when I arrived in Beijing. Ironic huh?  We were at the National Theatre (which is like...10 times bigger than our Esplanade?) and there was this cafe... Lunch wasn't til later, and breakfast in our flight was just sucky.. hence I grabbed a tuna sandwich and a coke light just to fill my tummy.

While walking to the National Theatre, I caught this lovely fallen leaves all over, and I had to snap a pic.  It is just so fall, you know? And that lone red leaf right in the middle is just priceless.  Wearing my pair of old boots which I bought in London like 3 or 4 years back.

At the park outside the Temple of Heaven, I saw this group of ladies doing dance movements according to some music playing.  Love the colors in this pic, the leaves, and their bright outfits.

    The Forbidden City is astounding.

    Details.

One must come to Beijing and have the Peking Duck.  This is pure perfection.

    Who cares about the calories?

Every bite is a crispy fragrant morsel of heaven.  Haha. How dramatic.

My lips combination for the cold days.  I first applied Lipstick Queen Medieval for a red stained effect, and slapped on the Sugar Fresh lipbalm.  Together they give my lips some color and also kept them smooth and moisturised.

Finishing off this entry with a 'backview' of the Forbidden City.  The set was setting (it was only about 4.30pm) and the view is just amazing.

Hope to be able to post a couple more entries in later this week.  Mainly my travel beauty products, which work and did not work...that could be interesting!

    Thanks for reading!

    Random Updates: Awesome August

Yup, this is the weekly mess on my table, at the end of each week... because I would be pulling stuff out that I want to try, gathering things that I want to take a group picture of, or just general chaos going on...  and at the end of each week, I shall attempt to put things away, so the following week, I try to take out new stuff to try.

Just a few random faves at the moment:

    Salty hair sprays for volume

    Foamy face washes

    NARS Sheer Glow foundation

Elizabeth Arden Pure Mineral powder foundation

love the good lighting, we look flawless and radiant (ps I was wearing my GA Maestro foundation)

tea time with my cousin and auntie!

dim sum with colorful legs and wicked shoes

    Our Awesome Week in Taipei!

Work started almost immediately after I got back from my TW trip, and I haven't been able to properly blog and post this entry up til now.  Even then, it took me quite a bit of time to select the pictures, sort them out, and all that.  I am glad for my long weekend, just to catch a breather, catch up on some rest, and also update the blog with lots of exciting entries (I hope).

I went to Taipei with Kimberly, Jerlaine and Amy.  We had planned the trip quite sometime back (via Jetstar), and stayed in Wonstar hotel, which is very central, and offers plenty of dining and shopping opportunities.  This is our second time travelling together (the last time was back in September, where we went to KL for the weekend).  Jerlaine knew the city pretty well, and taking into account all of our 'priorities' she managed to plan a fantastic intinerary.  There was plenty of time for sight-seeing, shopping, and eating.  When it comes to food, we would share smaller portions throughout the day, so as to make full use of our 'stomach space' and try out whatever we love to eat without feeling too full.

We had fantastic steamboat (buffet style, near our hotel), and even more fantastic giant pieces of sushi and sashimi.  Eating isn't very expensive in Taipei, and you get quality local food. Usually our day starts around 10 (after we showered and did our makeup), and we would conquer a place of interest, or to hunt down a specific shop.  Then we would roam around a mall, do some shopping, find a cafe, have some drinks, venture into random shops... and when our shopping gets too much to take, we would cab back to our hotel, dump our bags, rest for a bit, and head out in the evening for night market & dinner, or night market and & supper.

I know that Taipei is an extremely popular holiday location among Singaporeans (we could hear them everywhere we go), but I have never been there. It is definitely a place I would want to go back again and again, I think of it as a larger version of Hong Kong, more 'user-friendly' than Japan because we speak their language.  The Taiwanese are generally friendly, warm and helpful. I think my spoken Mandarin has even improved after this trip!

This trip has been totally nothing but lots of fun moments, and we were very 'cooperative' the whole trip, being patient, understanding, and willing to try out new things. Travelling with 3 other like-minded girls also meant that we didn't get sick of going into almost every makeup store, shopping mall, eating joints just to browse, shop, swatch and just soak in the atmosphere.  There are lots of priceless moments throughout the trip, and it's impossible for me to list down everything here.. so I hope you enjoy the pictures (I realise we didn't take much, because half the time, we took lots of pictures on our own iphones, and the other half of the time, it was raining quite heavily and it wasn't convenient to whip out my camera).

Getting ready every morning is a fun ritual, as we have the Taiwanese talkshows playing on the TV, we switched up our makeup items with one another, and did our makeup and hair in the same room.  At the end of each day, we have our nightly de-briefing sessions, planning and confirming the plans for the following day, followed by admiring our daily loots, and lots of girly talk!  We didn't sleep til around 2am every night, groaning about our tired legs, but since we are on vacation, we wake up the next morning full of energy to enjoy the city.  It was just awesome.

We have been spamming our instragram feed with our live updates from Taipei, so if you are following us in IG, you would have seen all our foodporn pictures and shopping along the way.  You can search on instagram the hashtag #twfrenzy, or #twfrenzy0612 for a collective photostream of the whole trip - from our pre-holiday Gelish manicure, our luggage packing, our food, our hotel and all that good stuff.

I couldn't have asked for better travel companions - and we were saying our monthly JB trips have 'conditioned' us to be quite good travel-mates to one another!

I hope you enjoy this photo-gallery, and for details on the exact locations we went to, you can see our photos on instagram, most of them are appropriately geo-tagged with the locations and maps.   I will also be posting separate haul entries featuring the stuff which I bought in Taipei, some of the have already been posted, so there will be more little stories in those entries.

    Thanks for reading!

Wake Me Up When October Ends ...

    Hi hi!

This isn't really any makeup-related entry... obviously.  Just felt like doing a quick catching up, honestly October felt like the longest month, and yet the shortest month in ages, given the sheer amount and variety of things that happened.  Life just happens, and sometimes you can't help but be swept along with it.  This is one of those special months when everything seemed to happen all at once.

Quite a few major events in October - a couple of birthdays, a couple of milestones work-wise and also my sister's wedding which took place last week. My students finally started their examinations....well everything just happening at the same time.  It seemed more challenging than ever to juggle all that were going on, and I even fell sick over  the weekend which carried into this whole week.  Lots of ups and downs, and well, I hope that in the end everything worked out just nicely and life can get back its natural balance again.

I have been updating (well, not like the whole world is anticipating) rather often on my instagram, sometimes it is fun to catch a glimpse of interesting things here and there.  Food that I ate, people I met, things I saw etc...

Every waking moment in school the past 2 or 3 weeks was filled with preparing my students for the final leg of their exam preparation, weekends were also not spared as we tried to squeeze in whatever possible time for consultations, discussions, and just general prep-talk.  Then on the home-front, it was lots of wedding talk, dresses talk, managing people, managing issues, arranging logistics, you name it...

In the midst of all these, I tried to catch up with some of my buddies, visiting close friends, and just hoping that everyone is doing her best.

Anyway, the first collage you see up there, is just a collection of my self-portraits... sometimes on days when I think 'hey my base combination today looks pretty good' or one of those note to self moments when I am reviewing a foundation, I snap a picture of my face, hopefully for me to remember to mention exactly what I like about the foundation at that point in time.  And I find it rather instaneous and gratifying to upload and quickly illustrate what i am talking about when a certain product wears nicely (or not) throughout the day.  Yup.... and so that's how I end up with perhaps way too many pictures of my face in my iphone camera roll.  Ah... the perils of being a beauty junkie.

And in this next collage, you get glimpses of my sister's big day... friends flew in for her big day, my sis did her own makeup (she didn't trust a makeup artist to do her face and end up making her look different, so she took charge of her own makeup instead) we ordered all our fancy dresses ONLINE which turned out to be the most fantastic idea because everything was a fraction of the price, and everyone looked fabulous.

I was part of the entourage as part driver, and also makeup artists to her bridesmaids, and in the process, I got the girls kinda hooked on my bronzers, illamasqua blushes (Lover was used prominently that day and night) and everyone couldn't get enough of the Ettusais BB Cream, Maquillage White Essence UV foundation, and Ettusais Mineral Loose Powder.  The girls and I was about the same in terms of skintone, so it worked out lovely for everyone.  I also used my GA Eyes to Kill in Khaki Gold all over the lids, and the same TW lashes were used on everyone, including the bride (she used UD Naked Palette and the 24/7 Glide on Pencil in Rehab).

All in all, it was a memorable night, to say the least.... and I wish nothing but only the greatest happiness to my sis and her hubs.

Right now, I am "processing" a whole bunch of products which were sent to me during this busy period.... sorting out which to be posted first, and which I have not started using, and which I need to take pictures of.  I have recently changed the lighting at my table, and it's now the perfect daylight type of lighting...which means I can take true color pictures at night/ anytime.   Hopefully I can sort out my schedule and be able to blog spam as before.   At the same time, I am trying to space out the feature entries with review entries, and also just my usual rambly random and haul entries --- because it can be boring, I know I personally find it boring -- if a blog exists solely just to feature or review products.  My blog has never been that way, and I have never been  that way.  I just don't take myself seriously enough to be all 'serious' about this whole blogging thing anyway --- that's how I even lasted so long, doing what I want, and what I love.  My blog is also reaching its 5th year soon, and I might want to plan something in celebration of that.

    Phew!

If I weren't kind of sick right now, I would be posting several Halloween looks...but maybe tomorrow or I might post just one look for fun.  My cronies and I would not be parading about this year (cos seriously...and shamelessly, even we can't top our efforts for the past two years!!!) cos they are having exams...and I...well, I am conducting the exams!  So we are giving the grand tour a skip this year.  Don't miss us though!

Can't wait for November...can't wait for the holidays to begin... I might plan a short trip (maybe too late already?) or start some other personal project for the year end.  Must start the next year right!

If you are still reading this rather long-winded entry, I really salute you for coming this far!  And I hope you continue to look forward to more interesting entries to come.  :)

    Hope everyone is doing well.

    Thanks for reading.

    LOTD & Some Updates!

    Hi hi!

Just want to do a quick update, some rambles of upcoming entries and so on.

It's been pretty hectic at work [well, it is always hectic] and also lots of stuff which I want to share with everyone on the blog - but let's get the LOTD out of the way.  Well, my LOTDs aren't exactly groundbreakingly different everytime, but I think it might be useful/ helpful to list the products I used, cos some of you might want me to do a review/ or request for comparisons etc.  Yup, so that's about the main reason I do my LOTDs... also somehow in the list of products used, there will be a couple of items I am in the process of reviewing and so on...

Today's LOTD is a quick 5 minute one, I already had on my base makeup, and also put on my eyemakeup later on.

I was going to Sarah's house for EID (or, Hari Raya).

    All products used:

Foundation - Ettusais Mineral BB Cream, Loreal True Match Foundation, Ettusais Mineral Powder

Concealer - Shu Uemura Pro Gel Cealer

Lips - Dior Addict Lipstick 712 Beige Dandy

Eyes - NARS Abyssina, NARS Isolde, MUFE Aqua Liner 12

Cheeks - MUFE Mat Bronzer, Tarte Tipsy, NARS Nico

I took off the falsies in the end.

Yesterday was a lazy day for me, time to just rest at home - after the full day of work on Saturday, and I spent Sunday catching up with my old pal, and also checked out the Burberry makeup... nothing really called out to me, I have seen and played with them in HK and US, though the range of lip products are quite lovely.  So anyway, yesterday, I also DIY colored my hair, to refresh the color, which is a soft blue black, I got mine from Revlon, think I got this particular one at Walgreens, some UV Defense series.

So here is the ultra black results.    I also tried out the Ettusais BB Cream and Powder - both are super fine in texture, even the BB cream, I feel like it is so soft, I don't even need to powder it.  But my face is currently rather zitty, so I need lots of concealer --- and the Shu Uemura pro gel cealer works superb.

I have also been downloading quite a few camera applications for my iphone lately, such as 'crossprocess', 'phonto', 'squaready', just to name a few.  Here are a few of my 'masterpieces'.  It is quite fun, something to do when you are bored...

These are just some of my instagram pictures... clearly, I like to take pictures of myself in the most random places....

And these two pictures... one is just a little sneak peak of my sister's loots from Korea -- tons of bb cream and whatnots...I will be doing a blog sale of some Korean goodies next week, if you are interested in BB Creams in general, do stay tuned.   And then next to it, you see a couple of MECCA nail polishes which Joey helped to CP when she went to Australia recently, I can't wait to swatch them in better lighting.  :)  Thanks Joey, and also thanks to my sister who is seriously shopping it up in Seoul - she is coming back tomorrow, I think.  Maybe I should plan a trip to Seoul this fall.  Hmmmm.

Well, I will be going to KL this weekend with my girlfriends, Amy, Jerlaine and Kim - can't wait!  Definitely going to check out Inglot, and do lots of random shopping, relaxing and eating.  I am also looking forward to soaking in a lushy bath with The Comforter which is this bar of LUSH bubble bar I bought in SF.

    Upcoming blog entries might include:

    an updated skincare routine,

    new skincare products,

overviews of cream eyeshadows, foaming facial cleansers and BB Creams.

in between there will be hauls, features, LOTDs, travel pictures etc.

    Lots to catch up on!

Hope everyone is doing great, and thanks for reading, as always! :)

Rambling Updates: Last online 1 Day 22 hours ago

    Hi!

I feel like I have been away 'forever', to use the word very relatively of course since I usually update at least once daily. When I got home on Friday from the outing which most of the attendees had already blogged about by now, I was diligently taking pictures which were too flashed out and the lighting was all weird, I figured I should do it all over again later today. And that was already way past midnight... when a couple of my people from work, who were in camp, they couldn't sleep, and so they called me up, and we went out for some drinks and snacks at Mac Cafe at West Coast Park (which is only about 10 min away on foot, but they drove there-I ain't going to trek there in the middle of the night heh heh).  So when I eventually really got home, it was past 3am, and so any updating of the Friday-March birthday-Mac Spring Color Forecast outing couldn't be done.

And to top that off, I brought my camera along during the outing, and totally forgot all about the SD card, and I could not take pics during the outing!!!  HOW CLEVER I AM, RIGHT???

Yea, but I know for sure, I left my house with a rather empty bag, but when I got home, my bag was stuffed, and more:

And just to summarise my Saturday, of which I was barely at home the entire day (which again explains the lack of updates):

Sat morning til noon -- work event

Sat afternoon til early evening -- was at Sentosa to 'check out' the CLEO 50 bachelors thingy, though the actual checking out took all of a total of about 5 seconds before we all got bored, and hot, and went back inside the restaurant to eat late lunch and people watch (not the bachelors but people in general)

Here are some pictures taken during the Sentosa segment:

It was super super hot and sunny out there, and well, we weren't very into the whole event anyway, but the sailor guy caught my attention!!  What an outfit! I thought he was part of the event, til I realised he is actually wearing his uniform, it isn't a costume!  LOL.

    Ahoy there, sailor!!!  LOL.

I painted my sister's nails when we went back inside the air conditioned restaurant -- I used China Glaze's X and Lubu Heels, and tried out this Orly speed dry top coat.  It dries fast but not so sure about the shine.

Sat evening til night -- went to town. shopped.  I couldn't find the Lady Gaga lipstick which was the giveaway prize (it's prolly stashed in one of the many bags lying around in my room, but whatever, the point is, I want to send out the prizes on Monday, so I bought another new one.  I got it at ION sephora, in case you want to get it.  Cos I heard it was OOS at some MAC counters.

We went to DFS wanting to grab a couple of the YSL lipsticks, but the RV which I wanted (Peach Faubourg) was OOS!!!!   But my gf got herself a Rouge Pur...and we went to Palz..she bought a couple of Orly nail polish etc etc...

Sat night til early morning -- went home, then went out again.  Some pictures here:

Nothing much on the eyes and cheeks here (just liner, false lashes, and I used MAC's Ravishing lipstick over Naked lip pencil, and Mac Personal Style blush)

My brother is shooting me evil looks now, cos he wants to use the comp (I need to use this comp cos it has photoshop for me to crop, resize etc) the pictures.

    Trimmed my brows today

    Hi hi!

*Update --- I realised I somehow posted this entry twice and I deleted the other one (which Diana commented on, she said she can't wait to go for her session @ browhaus), in case you are wondering.

If you remember, I have been keeping my brows rather 'bushy' of late.  Firstly, I usually trim my brows every 2 months or so, when I meet my bff, and we hang out and stuff.  In between our meetings and visits, I maintain my brows on my own, I usually pluck the obvious stray hairs, and that's super easy to do so, because the shape of the brows are already 'fixed'.    Then you recall my brow gel-hairy brows phase from a couple of weeks back... and well, to show you a pic of how my brows look like when it's time I need to get a proper trim.  As you can see, there are lotsa of stray hairs, and the hairs are quite long. But the overall shape is still intact, and I can still get away with just filling in my brows without looking too umkempt.

And post triming and tweezing.....you would notice that my brows look fuller actually, not so much because they have been filled in with the pencil, but the hairs are now going in a much neater way  due the way they have been cut.

Yup, so me loves my new brows!  The moral of the story is, if you get a good  brow trimming, it is just like a good haircut, it will grow out nicely even in between the maintainence, and a pair of nice shaped brows frame your face.  Very important indeed.

    Thanks for reading!!

    Rambling Updates (makeovers, giveaway)

    Hi!

I haven't posted an entry in days, that felt like a long time (to me, at least).  On Monday I attended my school's prom night, and I was asked by my students to do their makeup and nails~ In all honesty, it was a promise I carelessly made while we were preparing for the examinations and we talked about the prom and how they were going to dress up and stuff, and well, so I ended up on Sunday evening painting my students' nails (for 2 of them) and also doing their makeup on the day--Monday (for about 5 or 6 of them). The makeup session turned out to be a whole afternoon of powdering and shading and bronzing etc etc.  But it was fun being in the midst of all their excitement.  After they got ready and left, I went home to get ready and joined them fashionably late at the hotel for the prom.

Then the next day, my bestie also had her school prom, and she brought her daughter over my house to do a little mom-daughter glamour session.  That was fun!  Because we went to JB together over the weekend, and her daughter was 'missing' me as I painted her toes a girlish pink while we were in the car.  This time she brought her little makeup kit along (with Barbie palette and gloss) so we did a little makeup swap (well, I gave her 2 bottles of my hot pink nail polish and did a little nail art on her finger nails).

And the past couple of days, I had to attend 2 full day conference, so that explains the lack of activity around here.  So on this super rainy and chilly afternoon,  I shall try to catch up with all things MU related.

Some pictures of all the makeup sessions the past few days:

    The prom pictures

*Take note I don't normally post 'work' pictures ie students/ colleagues etc here, but since they have graduated

and it is a fun occasion, so I make the exception in this case*

This is the mother-daughter glamour session.  I dabbed some Dazzleglass and pink eyeshadow on the little girl for fun.

Yes, so I really had fun doing their makeup, and even though I am nowhere near professional, I think I 'experienced' what it is like to be a MUA, the deadline, rush to be ready by a certain time, the setting up and cleaning up, sitting there doing face after face, is really a tough job.  After the whole affair, I felt a little worn out.  However I also felt a certain sense of satisfaction when I see the girls all dolled up and happy and ready to go out and enjoy the evening/ night.

On another matter altogether, I am nearing 300 followers (295 as of now), and I did promise a giveaway once I hit 300.  I am also 2 or 3 weeks away from being an Onsugar member for 3 years.  This blog though, is of course, less than 2 years old.  I started out at the Sugar network because I was catching up on celeb gossip on Popsugar, and then I started writing about beauty stories etc etc... and one thing led to another and here we are.

I have some items ready as the prizes (Rimmel's Airy Fairy, Barry M Dazzledust, Lippaints, Majolica Majorca, inuovi etc etc) I am still planning and thinking how many prizes to giveaway, but one thing for sure, I will ship wherever you are.  This is because when I first started out here, my 'followers' -- I dislike using this word - are mainly from the States, girls whom I was already talking to on the Sugar network.  I will work out the finer details in the meantime, and more news will be announced.

In my previous update entry, I did mentioned something about guest-writing for Temptalia.. but I got kind of lazy, so that idea is scrapped. As for the Elizabeth Arden review updates, I have been using the products, but I think the sample amount is too little for me to do a full and fair review, so I shall wait for the full size products to be sent before I say anymore about that.  I am also going to do my inuovi Mystery Shopper Programme tomorrow (I got an extended deadline) so looking forward to that. And I am also slowly picking up some photoshop skills from my sister - that's kind of exciting, I can adjust the colors of my pictures to make the colors appear truer to life, that's useful for swatching and testing etc.

Yup, lotsa of stuff happening, and thanks to everyone for reading, and keeping in touch!
