Hi!

So I got a few items today, nothing major to shout about.. but I am kind of happy to get these items.

The first one is a black bag which I got at BATA (which some people very mischieviously say it stands for Buy And Throw Away), but anyway, since I was at Peninsula Plaza today, there is this huge BATA store, and we walked through the store to get to the camera shop.. and then we looked at the shoes, bags etc.. I saw this bag which was on sale, and I thought it is roomy enough for throwing in whatever you need, but it isn't too bulky.  Just a nice simple black bag. So I got that...

And later on in the evening, I was in town, and got Jade is the New Black from the OPI Hong Kong collection.  I think this is the most unique (must-have) color from that collection... so I got that.  (at Palz)

And lastly, I don't know why STYLE mag is soooooo late this month, and it comes with a little tote bag, don't let the word 'tote' fool you into thinking it is a big bag... it is barely big enough to hold the magazine.  But still, I would have gotten the mag with or without the freebie.

My gf bought the UD Alice in Wonderland palette which many of the Onsugarettes here have gotten too.. and when we were at ION Sephora (it was close to 9pm), I was so surprised that there were so many palettes just out there on display.  I texted Kas to make sure there was instock before we made our way to Sephora... and Kas said how she saw at least 8 palettes on display at the Taka store... but since we were at ION, so I thought why not check it out first.. and this is what I saw at the front of the store. I took a covert picture with my mobile phone before the guard came to me, and I acted cool like I was texting somebody. Ha!

And that's not all, there was lotsa more on a display shelf nearer the perfume section at the inside of the store.  So for those of you who are waiting, or wonder, or worried that you might not be in time to get one because you didn't call to reserve, I think you can head down to Sephora to see the palette for yourself, and buy it then.  Seriously.  What's up with all the hype about the limited stocks, and how you can only reserve when it is out, or whatever conditions they have?  I mean... it's like the hype and how 'hard' it is to get one, seems to make everyone go into a little frenzy about the palette.  But it turns out there is SO MANY.. and those who waited to buy it didn't have to go through the mental stress/ torment at all! I hate it when all these MU companies play up the hype and cause us to go all stalkerish, and go nuts with the anticipation.  All I can say is, I am glad this palette doesn't call out to me.... but you can bet I want to be the first to watch the actual movie (in all its 3D glory) when it hits the screen soon.

Then my gf bought me and my sister this Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_Ex which is a mask thingy you apply on your face before you go to sleep, I shall try this out, and do a review in due time!

Yea.. and maybe just before I end this rambling post, just to show my OOTD.. because I am so happy to find this pair of jeans which I thought was LOST in space or something.  I think I 'lost' it for a year.. when I saw it stuffed in my mom's wardrobe this afternoon (to look for another pair of jeans).

Yea, with this very weirdo picture of my jeans clad legs shot, I shall end this entry... and I am sooo excited (haul wise) for next week! Clue: those who follow me on twitter might have a pretty good idea of what's coming up.

Hi hi!!

This is going to be a quick review of 3 items which I am loving, and I highly recommend everyone to try out.

Firstly, the FANCL MILD CLEANSING OIL. I swear this removes all traces of makeup.  Very gentle on your skin, and I like to use this esp when I have loads of products on my face.  I have been using this product (in fact, my sisters and I all use this!) for a couple of years.  This, I believe, is also one of FANCL's best selling product.

I am too *lazy* to rotate the pictures.. very sorry!!! Maybe you can turn your head sideways... or if you are using a notebook, turn it sideways! LOL.

Next -- handwash.  KIREI KIREI 'Family Medicated Foamin Hand Soap' This is an Anti Bacteria+ Antiseptic handwash.  It is supposedly moisturising and it has such a pretty and sweet peach scent. Makes me want to wash my hands all the time.  And the foam is creamy and soapy!!  Doesn't leave a 'sticky' feeling and doesn't smell medicated cos of the peach scent after rinse.  LOVES!!  I don't know where you can find this, but sis got it at John Little.

And last but not least, we have Pantene Pro V Intensive Treatment.

This is awesome for those with long hair.  I use this everyday, though it is an intensive treatment... I just use a little dollop, mainly at the ends of my hair where it might be dry.  And it is so cheap!  I don't know if it really makes my hair softer or watever.. but it leaves your hair feeling very smooth after wash and lasts the whole day.  This is my 2nd tub... again cos sisters are also raving about this product.  And I like the tub packaging, I just dip my fingers inside, instead of having to squeeze the product outta a tube.. which can be a hassle when the product is running out.

So.... for a quick (albeit superficial) fix, try out Pantene Pro V treatment!! If you get it at those 'wholesale' beauty supply stores, I believe this can cost about $6.50.  At least that's what I paid for.  It also comes in other 'flavours' for colored hair, for hair loss etc etc.

P/SS: Just now Amy aka Purplio came over my place to have my mom fix her clothes.. we rambled about MU so that was kind of cool.  :)

P/SSS: The contest is coming to an end in about 24 hours!!!  Suddenly a few entries on the 'signature look' coming in.. I am soo excited to look at all of them.. I have glanced through the entries as they come in, but I am going to spend some time this weekend really picking out the winners.  Exciting!!!!

This is another rambling review.... this time, of products which I have tried before, or am currently using to ZAP those nasty zits.  As a teenager growing up, I am able to say I was one of those lucky kids who hardly, or never broke out.  But the nasty zits came back with a vengance in my adult years.  ARGH.   I had a bad bout of the zits last year (don't know WHY)  and I was on medication for the zits and also the doctor I saw recommended me a series of skincare called Derma-RX?  I think it is a US based skincare line, and think only available by prescription at clinics or smth.  Cos I have never seen this brand out in the mass market. I tried 3 of their products... but one of them I re-purchased.. because my siblings who need to zap their occassional zit find this particular product very effective. SO, here it is:

This looks like a bottle of nail polish???  Haha... There is some powdery stuff at the bottom of the bottle, which is the agent/ingredient for killing the zits.  The liquid on top is a alcohol solution which acts as a preservative for that power thingy.  So what I wil do is, use a Q-tip, dip into the powder section coating the Q tip with the powder.  NOT so much the alcohol which can burn your skin in that concentration.  Which means this is not one of those products which you SHAKE WELL AND USE.

And this is super super effective.  I would say it literally ZAPS 70% of your zit overnight.  Because it leaves a chalky patch and smell after use, this is something which you should use only for night treatment, let it work during the night.  Or when you are not going out for the day.  Cos who wants to walk about with all these dots on your face?  So yeah..this is effective.

Well... since we are on zits...I would say there are 3 types of 'treatment':  The first being prevention.... the second being the 'battle' stage (hence these products), and the post-battle---clearing up the scars.  Hahaha.  Prevention is kind of tough, well the usual stuff like drink lotsa water, avoid oily food etc etc all work to some extent, but I think it also depends heavily on your skin type and genes.  Some lucky people (iike my sis) just don't get zits.

As for the battle stage, this is when all the squeezing, zapping, and frantic application of creams lotions and whatever remedy you can find.  I have tried Johnson clean and clear pimple gel/cream (OK, not bad cheap and mostly effective) and also this other product which I got recently called ACNES (which is a horrid and highly inappropriate name, if you ask me).

Both products have a 'stinging' effect upon application, though I say the ACNES one is milder.  It works for smaller less nasty zits.

I think every girl should own an effective zit zapping product.  What's yours???  Do share in the comment section!

Ok.. before we go, I just want to talk about the last stage of the whole zit process... the POST BATTLE stage... yes, you can conceal the scars.. but you also want to avoid the sun, or use a concealer with SPF.... because the sun can cause horrid pigmentation marks over zit scars.  Over time you end up with dark spots on your face.  And we don't want that.  And while it may be an old wife tale... but I also avoid dark soya sauce food products and just 'black sauce' stuff in general.. because of the pigmentation which may seep into my skin and make the blemish spots darker.  This sounds super stupid and non-scientific I know... but.... better be safe than sorry eh? And I have also been known to use a brown pencil to 'dot' a last min zit in strategic places to pass them off as sexy moles.  Who knows, right?
