Hi hi!
I am tagged by fiend to do this fun tag. I don't carry much necessities in my bag really. And I tend to just use the same everyday bag regardless of outfit, unless I am going out at night, or just a quick trip out, then I don't carry any bag at all, I just grab my purse. Also, sometimes when I am really lazy to pack, I just throw everything (work stuff, computers, etc etc) all into a big big shopping bag which I will just lug around wherever I go. But since work is winding down the last few weeks, my bag situation is more stable and normal, and this is what I use most often lately, because it matches whatever I am wearing and is so seasoned already.
My Bag: Fendi's Bag De Jour in Medium. I bought this 3 or 4 years back, and it has been really well worn and seasoned. Honestly, I don't think I will spend that $Bomb on branded bags now. I also have a couple of balenciaga and miu miu bags which are sitting forgotten in the back of my wardrobe. But I always go back to this old lady because I think it is quite classic.
Inside the bag, first, we have the basic necessities:
Oversized shades from Dior. This is my 2nd pair, I like the first one so much when I broke it, I went hunting for the same one to replace.
Umbrella. Singapore is so hot and sunny, I would literally melt in the hot sun and lately I noticed freckles have been sprouting all over my arms and shoulders even when I am not wearing sleeveless tops - how weird is that?? Or am I getting old? I would use the umbrella even when I am just crossing the road. And besides you never know when it will rain here.
Leopard print shawl: Cos you never know when you are going to catch a movie, or go somewhere the aircon is blasting. I think leopard print is pretty classidc for a shawl and the more it clashes with your outfit, the better. Haha. And it fits into my bag without taking up too much space.
My iphone, earphones, random cash in a green metallic pouch. Random toothbrush from camp a couple of days ago, thermometer, cos with the flu situation you never know when you need to be measured and I don't want anyone poking thermometers into my ears or watever....
Foldable shopping bag. In case I decide to go on a little spree and I don't want to lug plastic bags around.
Speaking of shopping bags, sometimes I am a real bag lady and just lug around all these large shopping bags with EVERYTHING just thrown inside. I prolly have 2 or 3 more lying around my room, some with clothes to be washed, some with old magazines...I am sooo messy!
Ok, so I got sidetracked. Back to my current bag...next we have travel essentials, I went to the library a couple of days ago to loan 2 tokyo guides. Frankly they are so outdated, but I just kind of wanted a little fold out map handy....I would have bought it, but I am just going there for 4 days, it's not worth the $. And I am sure I can get more updated literature at the relevant places when I arrive. And my fave hairclip. A red star clip to keep my bangs away.
Next, my little makeup pouch. I haven't used the contents in the past few days, but here are what's inside. MAC Blot Powder, VIVA Glam IV lipstick, Oyster Girl lipglass, and lash adhesive, and a little concealer.
And now the most exciting part... my purse. Ha ha. Unlike most people, I don't carry a proper wallet with the slots for cards, cash etc etc. I just throw everything I need into my purse. This is because I can't be bothered to put the cards back into their designated slots after use, and soon after... all the slots will be empty, and they end up in the coin/ cash compartment etc etc.. you know what I mean? So for the past few years, I just throw everything inside. This is a beige Chloe purse, which is a gift with purchase when I got the perfume last year.
Do you want to see what's inside?
Ok, I shall just go ahead and show you what's inside.
In one corner, we have the cold hard cash... I usually carry around quite a bit.. cos I hate standing in long ATM Qs....and lotsa coins, and more hairpins, random paperclip. Coins are always useful, when you need to pay the cab driver, or when you need to take the bus... well. I hardly take the bus. Or the train. I take cabs everywhere, or I walk. I don't drive, neither do I have a license - but the bf does, and most of my pals do, and those who don't are also cabby regulars like myself. I think I might have mention this before, but public transport are the bane of my life. I can't stand the buses or the trains. Too crowded and you wait foreeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvver for them to arrive, and in the meantime you just stand/sit around in some dirty stuffy bus stop waiting and waiting. Gosh. Yes, I am whining and prolly sound very diva.. but when it comes to such matters, I admit I am. Ha ha. So hence you don't see any transportation cards etc in my purse. I lost my card thingy, it must be lying in some other bag...
Ok... I digress, and this is going to be such a long post!! Argh. Next, we have the $$ cards. Shan't go into details there, except I choose the card with the most benefits and only stick to one because I am very bad at bills and having one bank, one card is the way to go for me. Then we have the retail therapy cards....for eg, a pet food card for my doggie, FCUK member card, Jay Gee group (levis, dockers, giuseppe zanotti, aigner, etc), IKEA Friends card, Body Shop card, TANGS card.... And then very important card.. Zouk member... prolly have this for the past 7 or 8 years since I was in UNI, so I never had to queue nor pay entry when I go there. So little useful thing to have.
And then I have a wad of receipts etc that I should trash. So, doing this tag is good... I get to clean out junk in my purse and bag. Haha.
Yea, I think this is all, and I hope you enjoyed reading about this. And I think I have learnt something about myself. I am a 'throw everything inside' kind of gal. LOL.
Have a fab day!
