Maquillage launches a new liquid foundation, the Essence Rich White Liquid UV end of this month/ October. I have been using, and more importantly, enjoying this foundation the past week, and I shall share my thoughts with you here.
Shiseido’s MAQuillAGE Essence Rich White Liquid UV is a liquid foundation with 80% beauty esssence ingredients to give the appearance of “pure white virgin skin”.
It is formulated with “Pure White Essence E” to moisturize and brighten skin. It has a soft focus effect to diminish the appearance of large pores and uneven skin texture, while brightening dull skin. The lightweight foundation gives a light, uniform coverage for luminous, more evenly toned skin that lasts for up to 8 hours.

According to RougeDeluxe, the foundation will be launched at BHG this weekend, and there are some promotions going on. Click her entry for more information.
It will retail for S$76 for 30ml of product.
Let's take a closer look at the product itself.
Packaging: It looks like a big bottle of nail polish, with the faceted bottle, and the jewelled cap. You can see the foundation through the bottle. It also comes with a special sponge, uncased in a separate case. It has a side that is specially formulated for applying the foundation - it doesn't absorb the foundation easily, hence you can apply and blend the foundation onto your face. The foundation comes in a plastic pump dispenser, and I usually use two pumps per application.
Some swatches and an idea of the texture:
I am testing out the shade OC-10 which is the lightest shade, and it is also my exact match. It is pretty liquidy, and as you can see in the initial blending out, it seems to 'separate' but when you totally blend out the foundation, it is a very smooth and seamless appearance. It is one of the most liquidy foundation I have tried out. It remains me of MAC Face & Body foundation in terms of the liquid-ness, but once applied on skin, because it is so light in texture, it reminds me of Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua which is so 'second skin' and light.
Therefore, in terms of the texture and consistency, I really like how it is so light, and you don't actually feel like you are wearing foundation.
In terms of coverage and lasting power:
It gives light to medium coverage - definitely buildable, because I apply a second layer over areas where I need more coverage. I didn't use the sponge that comes with the foundation, simply because in the morning, I usually prefer to slap the foundation on my face with my fingers. And I like how it blends out very quickly and sets into my skin. And because I am testing out this foundation, I didn't use my usual BB creams as a base. I have gone back to using my Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Spot Control UV base as a primer. Then I usually set with my Ettusais Mineral Loose Powder. Together, the results is pretty much very flawless, but never cakey nor heavy. My pores also look much minimized with the use of this foundation. I also did not experience any breakouts from using this foundation.
It lasts me a good 8 hours of wear everyday, and it has a slight dewy finish. I have to blot after 5 hours or so. And by the end of the day, about 10 hours later, the foundation is still there (meaning if I blot the shine away on my face) I am still left with perhaps 70% of the flawless appearance which I start out with in the morning.
A couple of shots of how the foundation looks like on my face - showing only half the face because you get a good idea of how it looks anyway... and well, I look kinda sleep at 6.30am in the morning.... so got to crop out the rest of the sheepish sleeping look.
The overall finish is a nice slightly dewy finish, nothing greasy nor shiny.
(makeup I am wearing: Sleek Suede blush, DuWop Crush Eyeshadow Trio)
I think Maquillage has consistently put out very quality base makeup (love love their lasting stick foundation which I have also tested and used before), and this is no surprise. I highly recommend this foundation! :)
