LOTD , thoughts on Chanel make up base, matte eye shadows

Hi!!

I used the Chanel base today.  Since it's my first time trying it, I can't say for sure if it is GOOD or BAD.  So I am just expressing my first thoughts on this product.

Firstly, it smells awesome on the skin like a bowl of freshly cut pears.  Seriously.  Loves it!

Secondly, the texture is very light, and you just shake the bottle, and squeeze out a few drops.  That's all you need for the whole face.  There is slight 'glitter' when I tested it on my hand at the counter, but it is so fine, you can't see it on your face at all.  BTW it comes in 4 shades, a greenish, purple/blue, beige, and I got mine in the Rose/pink tinge, which is fairer, and I also didn't need anymore of the whitening/radiance thingy that the other shades promise to do.

Thirdly, it is kind of expensive, but you really just need to use a little. Personally for me, I won't use it on a daily basis.  I still have my Canmake make up base (which is really good btw I got to do a quickie review on this soon), and my Dior Radiant Skin Base as well (that's a huge bottle I think).

After applying it and smoothing it into my face, I can see and feel a very thin smooth layer over my skin.  Nice.  And my make up went on smoothly.  I find such bases work better for me than those silica based type of gel thingy (like the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer -- which is a fave among MU junkies but sadly doesn't work for me AT ALL).

Then come the matte shadows -- I know they are a pain to blend, but this is what I came up with.  Oh well.  I think my LOTD is pretty much similar to the ones I have posted this week. I used both Copperplate and Poison Pen, and also Apri-Grey (another matte), Carbon (matte), to blend and intensify respectively.  The only shimmer/stain stuff would be the Mylar and White Frost I used as highlights.  I used Alpha Girl blush and Blanketty on the lips.  And I am really lazy with my lashes lately, so nothing there at all, except for a purple mascara, which I don't think shows up at all in the pictures (or in real life for that matter, LOL).

Gotta rush out now, see you!
